Eye Care Services & Contact Lens Fittings

Comprehensive Eye Exam
We recommend coming in for your comprehensive eye exam annually. Comprehensive eye exams not only assess vision, but also include a thorough evaluation of the health of the eyes and surrounding areas by using various tests and procedures.
Contact Lens Fitting
Contact lenses are medical devices placed on the surface of the eye. Improper use or fitting can lead to serious damage, including corneal ulcers and scars. With decades of experience, we will find the contact that is right for you. We fit all major brands of contact lenses including toric, multifocal, rigid gas permeable (RGP), scleral, and hybrid lenses. We fit specialty lenses for patients with keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, severe dry eye, Sjogren’s, and patients who have had corneal transplants or have large corneal scars.
Diabetic Eye Exam
Damage to blood vessels is common in those with diabetes, especially when blood sugar is poorly controlled. The eyes are the only place in the body that these blood vessels can be visualized without surgery. High blood pressure, in addition to diabetes or in isolation, can also cause blood vessel damage. Both of these conditions can ultimately lead to serious vision loss.
Glaucoma
Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness in the US and the world. It is asymptomatic until very late in the disease, making regular eye exams crucial for early diagnosis and treatment.
Cataracts
A cataract is a clouding of the lens inside the eye normally due to aging. Cataracts prevent clear images from appearing on the retina, causing blurred vision, nighttime glare, and halos. There are many types of cataracts, and they can only be treated by surgery.
Macular Degeneration
Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of vision loss, affecting more than 10 million Americans. An annual eye exam is the best way to diagnose macular degeneration early and prevent vision loss with proper treatment protocol.
Eye Trauma or Injury
Blunt force or a penetrating injury to or around the eye can cause damage not only to the eyeball but also to the surrounding tissue and requires immediate examination by a professional.
Headaches
While headaches can have many causes, assuring that the glasses or contact lens prescription is correct and that there are no ocular health concerns is an important first step.
Infant & Toddler
Eye Exams for 6 month to 12 year olds
Dixie Eyecare & Contact Lens Center is a certified InfantSEE provider. Ensure your infant is developing with healthy eyesight with eye exams.
Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)
Amblyopia occurs when the brain ignores the signal from one eye, either due to an asymmetric prescription, eye turn, or other cause. This can be prevented or treated with early intervention.
Eye Pain
Chronic eye pain is often perceived as a feeling of scratching, burning, or itching. It may be due to several factors including a foreign body lodged in the eye socket, dry eye, or a scrape. Pain behind the eyes can also create light sensitivity and headaches.
Glasses Adjustments
Our team of opticians are happy to help make adjustments to ensure that glasses fit comfortably and vision is optimized.
Lasik Co-Management
Lasik surgery changes the curvature of the cornea to correct vision without contacts or glasses. We work with several incredible LASIK surgeons in the area to help patients improve their vision surgically.
Foreign Body Removal
Foreign objects are difficult and often dangerous to remove without proper instruments. We specialize in removing metallic or organic foreign objects from the eye and treatment of any associated problems.
Dry Eye
Over 16 million Americans have been diagnosed with dry eye. Especially in our desert climate, proper treatment can be life-changing for this debilitating disease.
Retinal Imaging

Complementary wide-angle retinal imaging is performed on all patients, helping to rule out retinal pathologies such as retinal holes, tears, tumors, vitreous, or retinal detachment.

State-Of-The-Art Technology
Our office uses the latest technology including Optical Coherence Tomography, a Visual Field Analyzer, and Corneal Topography.
